UKZN warns against student placement scams
Updated | By Celumusa Zulu
As the 2024 academic year kicks off, the University of KwaZulu-Natal says there is already a rise in registration and placement scams targeting prospective students.

It’s warning those planning to further their studies to be vigilant and not respond to posts or click on links that ask for payment for placement at the institution.
"We want all prospective students to not fall prey to these scams,” says UKZN's Executive Director for Corporate Relations Normah Zondo.

“Please do not press any unverified website links. Everything related to registration is solely managed by UKZN staff, and everything you need to know will be published on the official university website and official social media platforms.
"We further warn against any illegal upgrade centres that claim to be associated with UKZN."
