UKZN in talks with striking student leaders
Updated | By Lucky Khanyile
Protests began on Monday, but took a violent turn earlier today.
Police fired rubber bullets at protesting students - but no arrests have been made.
It's understood students demanded to have a public meeting with management to
discuss their demands around issues of financial aid and possible 2017 fee
increases.
UKZN spokesperson Lesiba Seshoka says it's impossible for management to meet 44 000 students at a public meeting - to discuss over
20 issues.
