UKZN probing student 'intruder' incident

UKZN says it will be probing an incident in which a male student was attacked, apparently after being found inside a female residence.

It's alleged the student entered the res at Westville campus on Monday, while a female student was taking a shower.

It's alleged the young man's pants were unzipped, prompting the woman to scream for help when she noticed him.
In a video that has emerged on social media, a group of students are seen beating the man outside the female residence.
It's alleged he gained access to the building via the fire escape.
He claims he entered the bathroom because he needed to use the toilet.
UKZN spokesperson Ashton Bodrick, says there will be a disciplinary hearing.
KZN police spokesperson Thulani Zwane say no cases have been opened in relation with this incident.
