UKZN exams expected to resume after disruptions
Updated | By Anelisa Kubheka
The SRC at UKZN's Howard College campus has assured students their examinations this morning will run smoothly without any problems.
Exams were disrupted yesterday after taxi and bus operators clashed at the university.
"Students had to push their way through the exam venue. We had to then close off the paper, as the paper was compromised due to instability," she said.
UKZN sent a message to students and staff saying those who'd been affected by the unrest will get an opportunity to sit for the papers again.

The university said taxis operators in the Durban CBD had prevented the UKZN buses from picking up students from off-campus residences.
SRC President, Kuhlekonke Ntuli, says students who needed lifts home after writing exams became frustrated.
She says this led to a physical confrontation with operators who allegedly threatened them with guns.
"As we're standing - there were taxi owners surrounding us. So, they had to disrupt the exams. They believe their grievances were heard as a resolution was met in a meeting which was sitting during all of these disruptions," she said.
She says there were problems when one of the companies failed to honour an agreement between taxi and bus operators.
