Ugu Municipality loses mayor, municipal manager in space of two days

The
Ugu District Municipality on KZN's South Coast says it's saddened to have lost
two of its leaders in a space of two days.
Municipal Mayor Phumlile Mthiyane died in the early hours of Monday morning.
His passing comes after the death of Municipal Manager Elliot Ntombela on Saturday.

Ntombela was ill and had been hospitalised for three weeks.
UGU Municipality spokesperson France Zama says it's a difficult time for everyone in the district.
"A black cloud seems to have fallen on our municipality. We woke up today with the sad news of the passing of our honourable mayor, and this has come as a shock to all of us.
"We ask members of the public to place us in their prayers and we will be communicating funeral arrangements for both mayor and municipal manager."
