Uber faces more criticism in Joburg

Metered taxi operators are once again up in arms about online taxi hailing service, Uber.

In a meeting, the Gauteng Transport Minister Ismail Vadi Vadi launched a new regulation for Uber taxis that was disrupted by metered taxi operators.
The drivers say the online taxi hailing service does not adhere to the same regulations and operators are unable to match their anti-competitive pricing.

Earlier this month, hundreds of metered taxi operators from KZN marched through the Durban CBD, calling for stricter measures to be implemented.
