Tzaneen petrol attendant attackers sentenced

Two men caught on camera assaulting a petrol attendant in Tzaneen, Limpopo have been sentenced to 18 and 24 months in jail respectively.
Hermanus Martinus van Dyk and Danie le Roux appeared in the Tzaneen Magistrate's Court for attacking Johannes Monyela at a petrol station on June 18.
The pair faced charges of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and crimen injuria.
The province's secretary for Cosatu, Gerald Twala said that this is not the first time an incident of this nature at the same petrol station has been reported to the police, calling for an in depth investigation into the attacks in Limpopo.
