Two years since Lily Mine Collapse
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
Today is exactly two years since the collapse of a shaft at the Lily Gold Mine in Mpumalanga that left three workers trapped underground.
Some 76 miners were rescued out of a group of 79 trapped underground at Lily Vantage Gold Mine in Barberton.
Pretty Nkambule, Yvonne Mnisi and Solomon Nyarenda had been working inside a lamp room on the surface when a section of the earth caved in, burying their container.
A remembrance ceremony was held with the workers' families today.
