Two top ten Comrades finishers suspended

The Comrades Marathon Association says two of last year's top 10 finishers in the Comrades Marathon men's race have been suspended.
The Comrades Marathon Association says Joseph Mphuthi and Sandile Ngunuza who finished in 6th and 9th positions respectively have been suspended by the SA Institute for Drug-Free Sport.
The association released a statement today saying the two-year suspensions are with immediate effect.
The Association's General Manager Chris Fisher wouldn't be drawn on what the athletes tested positive for but says they're pleased the disciplinary process was completed before this year's installment.
"Certain unsportsmanlike conducts have been brought to our attention and a lot of the runners themselves are saying to us - there is cheating taking place. We're saying that's not acceptable anymore.
"Any form of cheating that comes to our attention and is a result of a disciplinary enquiry will be dealt with. We're very happy that two-year suspensions have been issued to these two runners," he said.
The announcement comes after the association announced recently that the issue of alleged cheating will be vigorously addressed.
KZN Athletics has agreed to partner with the CMA to further clamp down on similar incidents. The organisations will be using various technologies to identify irregularities in future races.
This year's 91st Comrades Marathon will be on May 29 and will be a down run.
