Two suspects in court for killing PMB officer

Two youths suspected of killing a police officer in Pietermaritzburg will stay behind bars for another two weeks.

Thandolwami Shezi and Nhlakanipho Mabaso, who are 18 and 20 years old, are accused of shooting Warrant Officer Mfundo Khumalo in Imbali last year March.
The pair allegedly entered Khumalo's house and demanded cash and cell phones at gunpoint.
An altercation ensued and the off-duty officer was shot.

Khumalo was rushed to a nearby clinic where he was declared dead.
His attackers fled with a cell phone and laptop.
Shezi and Mabaso were arrested on Monday.
They made a brief appearance in the Pietermaritzburg Magistrate's Court on the same day.
The case was postponed to mid-November.
