Two pensioners involved in Verulam crash robbed
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
Thieves have struck again in a heartless attack on two crash victims trapped in the wreckage of their car north of Durban.
Reports from the scene are that their car collided with another vehicle on the R102 between Canelands and Verulam on Wednesday.
It overturned, leaving a 54-year-old woman and a 76-year-old man trapped inside.
Reaction Unit SA's Prem Balram says they were told that robbers pounced on the pair while they were waiting for help and stole a number of items, including the woman's handbag.
