Officers say a woman went to the area to meet her boyfriend that she had met on social media at the beginning of the month.

Once she got there, she met the man who claimed he would take her to his home via a short cut. Police say as the two were walking through a sugarcane field another man wielding a knife emerged.

They say the woman's boyfriend then turned on her and both men robbed the victim of her cellphone and cash before allegedly taking turns raping her.
