Police have been processing two crime scenes in Durban after deadly shootings on Wednesday night.
A municipal worker was gunned down in Ubhejane Crescent in the Avoca Hills area.
The motive for the attack isn't yet known.
"On arrival on scene a fifty-four-year-old male municipality worker was found to have sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was declared dead on arrival of paramedics," says Emer-G-Med's Kyle van Reenen.

"The motive for the shooting and the events preceding it are unclear and will form the subject of a South African Police Services investigation."
Van Reenen says they were then alerted to reports of a botched hijacking in the Sherwood area.
A man was shot dead on Jan Smutts Highway.
"Further information ascertained alleges that the deceased and his accomplices attempted to hijack a man at gunpoint when the victim fired a shot in defence of his life, killing the man. His accomplices fled in an unknown direction."
