Two killed after fall from hydraulic lift in PMB
Authorities are investigating the death of two men who fell from a hydraulic lift in the Pietermaritzburg's Scottsville area.
It's understood the men had been working on streetlights when the cage they'd been standing in broke at about 17:30pm yesterday.
Netcare911's Chris Botha says the men sustained serious injuries.
"When they were coming down apparently the cage broke and they fell to the ground. Both men had sustained very critical injuries.
"Paramedics treated them on the scene and then transported them to a local hospital. Tragically, they died later on due to the very extensive injuries that they sustained," he said.
