Two people have been killed nearly 70 others have injured in two separate crashes in Harding and Pinetown today.
In the latest collision in Pinetown this morning, sixteen people were hurt.
Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha says the side impact collision happened at the intersection of Meller and Kings Roads.
"When we arrived there, we found the wreckages in the middle road the road, but the injured had managed to clamber from the wreckage and were found on the side of the road. There were two people who sustained serious injuries," he said.
The accident comes as scores other people are recovering in hospital after they were injured in an accident near Harding in southern KwaZulu-Natal in the early hours of this morning.
The crash occurred just after midnight on the N2 highway.
KZN Emergency Medical Services' Robert McKenzie says two people were killed.
"The crash involved two buses, a truck and two cows. Paramedics treated over 50 other patients at the scene and transported them to hospital for continued medical care. The exact cause of the crash is not known at this stage," he said.
KZN EMS says because of the high number of injured, additional vehicles had to be dispatched from Port Shepstone to assist at the scene.
Police are investigating the causes of both accidents.
