Kidesh Ramjettan was shot dead at his filling station in Rossburgh in August.
The three suspects were arrested in Johannesburg last week.
There was some confusion in court this morning when only Menziwa Mdaka and Zakhele Dubazane appeared before the magistrate.
The NPA's Natasha Ramkisson Kara explains accused number one, Ayanda Shezi - who allegedly pulled the trigger - was not in court because his trial has been separated from that of his co-accused and he’ll be in the dock next week.

The State has not officially given a reason for this decision.
The Criminal Procedure Act allows for a separation of trials at any stage during proceedings, if either the State or the defence requests a court to.
In court, Ramjettan's family and friends sat behind the two accused, clad in t-shirts bearing his face and the words "no bail for the hired killers".

Ramjettan's brother, Anesh, said he was glad that the arrests had been made,

“But as a family, we can not accept what happened. We cannot forgive these people for what they have done. That is the main reason the family has decided to show some support”.

The court heard that Mdaka and Dubazane's bail application - which the State says it will oppose - would go ahead next month.
The pair are being represented by Advocate Jimmy Howse.
