Updated | By Lethiwe Mdluli
A south coast family has been left devastated after two young cousins were murdered, allegedly by their uncle.
Police say the children, aged 2 and 3 years, were attacked at their grandmother's home in Bhobhoyi near Port Shepstone in the early hours of yesterday morning.
Police spokesperson, Thulani Zwane says the uncle also later died.
"It is alleged that yesterday at 5am, the uncle [attacked] these two kids and they died instantly. The grandmother of the children was also hurt. She was taken to hospital for treatment. The suspect then ran away and was allegedly knocked over by a truck along the N2 freeway," he said.
