Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths of two people who were found in a lift shaft at a building in Pretoria central.

The two bodies were found on Tuesday morning.
The Tshwane emergency services made the discovery while responding to a distress call from a man who had fallen through a lift shaft into the building's basement.
Tshwane EMS spokesperson Charles Mabaso says the injured man was taken to hospital in a stable condition.
