Updated | By ECR Newswatch
Ladysmith police have arrested twenty high school pupils from Weenen after they apparently pelting their fellow pupils with stones.
It's understood a group of scholars who have either been expelled or suspended for misbehaving tried to prevent other learners from attending school yesterday.
Police say shortly before school began, the group hurled stones at other pupils, prompting the Ladysmith Tactical Response Team, the K9 Unit and the Pietermaritzburg Public Order Police to be called in.
Some windows of the school, as well as those of nearby houses and two buses were broken during the incident.
The teenagers, aged between 15 and 19, all face charges of public violence and will appear in the Weenen Magistrate's Court soon.
