The church is calling for an end to attacks on the President and for South Africans to learn to forgive like former President Nelson Mandela did the apartheid government.

The church's Chief Apostle, Caesar Nongqunga addressed congregants at their annual Thanksgiving Day at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban yesterday with President Zuma in attendance.

"If this man was really corrupt - would he still be here? [Because] you hate him, and you don't like him - would you negotiate for him to resign? No, you won't. Just because you can't find a thing on him," he said.

He said Christians are taught to forgive the sins of the man.

"Is it a sin to join BRICS, to build your home, or to allow the government to upgrade the fence of your home if you are the president? Why does the spirit within us telling us to remember the bad that the man has done?," he said.

KZN Premier Willies Mchunu, eThekwini Mayor Zandile Gumede, MEC for Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs Nomusa Dube-Ncube and the ANC's Super Zuma also attended the event.
