Former Generations actor and JoziFM presenter Mandla Hlatshwayo has been shot and killed in Pimville, Soweto.
Police spokesperson Hitler Ngwenya says two people were killed during an attempted armed robbery last night.
"Two victims were killed by four unknown armed males. They went inside the pub and shot the victims. They were trying to rob everyone when the two victims were shot and killed," says Ngwenya.
Ngwenya says they are investigating a case of premeditated murder.
"At present we cannot say who was killed, because we still have to confirm with members of the family," says Ngwenya.
However Jozi FM CEO Mpho Mhlongo confirmed Hlatshwayo was one of the people killed.
Mhlongo says he rushed to the scene when he received the news.
"When I rushed there, they found his motionless body lying outside the venue," says Mhlongo.
Mhlongo says Hlatshwayo died trying to save a woman.
