With the results of the race to the White House just hours away from being released, here are the states that are believed to be crucial in determining the winner of the US presidential election.
Swing states or battleground states are those that have similar levels of support from both parties contesting the election, therefore making it difficult to pre-determine whether it's a definitive blue (Democrats) or red state (Republicans).
