Truck driver hospitalized after carbon monoxide poisoning

A truck driver is being treated for suspected carbon monoxide poisoning at a midlands hospital.
It's after he fell unconscious while driving the heavy-duty vehicle on the N3 near Tweedie yesterday.
It's alleged that he had been cooking on a gas stove, whilst driving, when the incident happened.

Roland Robertson is the spokesperson for the Midlands EMS Advanced life support.
"On arrival it was found that a bystander had broken the truck window and removed the driver from the truck that was across the N3. The driver was found to be in critical condition with carbon monoxide poisoning and required urgent advanced life support treatment."
" Once treated once stabilized the patient was transported a specialist hospital in Pietermaritzburg for further care."
