Truck driver ejected, killed after Durban crash

A truck driver has been killed after being thrown out of the vehicle when it crashed in Durban on Tuesday.

The container truck slammed into a barrier on the Umgeni Road flyover.
Rescue Care's Kyle van Reenen said: "On further investigation, it was ascertained that the driver of the vehicle had been ejected through the front windshield.

"He went over the bridge, and he landed on the freeway below. Further assessment of the driver found that the male had suffered fatal injuries, and he was declared deceased on arrival.
"The cause of the collision and the events leading are unknown and will form the subject of the South African Police Service investigation."
