Defence Force (SANDF) have hit the ground in the Western Cape.
The troops started work last week Tuesday.
They are patrolling parts of the Cape Town metro and on beaches along the Garden Route.
The Garden Route was the first area in the Western Cape to be declared a Covid-19 hotspot.

Beaches around the province have been closed to the public as the province battles a surge in Covid-19 infections.
This prompted Premier Alan Winde to request the SANDF to help authorities in the province with law enforcement and help enforce the lockdown regulations.
SANDF spokesperson Mafi Mgobozi says troops have been deployed to assist police.
“We can confirm that the SANDF have been deployed in the Western Cape. They were deployed in the Cape metro, Garden Route, Mossel Bay and Knysna.
“This deployment started on Tuesday and it will last until the end of January. We are there to support the police to enforce the Covid-19 regulations. We will be working under SAPS and assisting them in their operations.”
