Fatima Patel, Sayfydeen Del Vecchio and 19-year-old Themba Xulu are believed to be behind the disappearance of Rodney and Rachel Saunders in Vryheid last month.

Patel was previously arrested and released on bail in the terror-related matter involving twin brothers, Brandon-Lee and Tony-Lee Thulsie.

The trio stood side by side today before the Verulam Magistrate's Court.

The state's Adele Barnard told the court that among the charges faced by Patel and Del Vecchio - the robbery charge has been changed to that of robbery with aggravated circumstances after blood was found in the couple's vehicle.

They also face possible terrorism related charges. Magistrate D. Kathuravaloo asked if the three had anything they would like to say.

A visibly upset and frustrated Xulu immediately replied in Zulu that he has no idea why he's in court or why he's even arrested.

The matter was postponed to the 6th of March for a formal bail application.
