Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
The trial of a Durban dad accused of killing five members of his family is set to begin in 2023.

It's alleged that Kista Chetty set fire to his Phoenix apartment exactly a year ago, killing five people.
Chetty faces five counts of murder for his wife Elisha Naidoo.
He's accused of killing their 13-year-old daughter, Jadene and three of their sons, Jordan, Aarav and Aldrin.
Aldrin, who was three-years-old, was the youngest of the children.

He faces six attempted murder charges for residents who managed to escape from the premises and a charge of arson.
It's believed that Chetty was involved in a domestic dispute with his wife before the incident took place at their Kidstone home.
The NPA says he will remain in custody until the trial in August 2023.
