Trees4Gugu Campaign takes off
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
Together with the Trek4Mandela team - the wife of race car driver, Gugu Zulu will again be submitting Mount Kilimanjaro this year - this time to plant trees in honour of her late husband.
Health and fitness enthusiast, Letshego Zulu will also be joined by members of her family.
In an Instagram post in June, Letshego wrote: 'We're going back to Kilimanjaro next month to honour the life of the truly amazing and extraordinary Gugu Zulu, by planting a mini forest in his memory.'
The 38-year-old father died on July 18, 2016 after falling ill at the last camp before Africa's highest peak.
With at least 100 climbers this year, the Trek4Mandela team embarks on the annual expedition - aimed at raising funds for the Caring4Girls programme.

The team departed yesterday for Tanzania and hopes to summit Mount Kilimanjaro on Mandela Day, 18 July.
Zulu has also partnered with The Kilimanjaro Project - which amongst other projects - plans to plant a million trees in the Kilimanjaro Region in 2018. A tree-planting ceremony will be held today.
