Updated | By Khatija Nxedlana
A tourism expert believes South Africa and other developing countries could become the preferred destinations among travellers due to recent terror attacks in other parts of the world.

The North West University's Melville Saayman says the Paris attacks have left experts questioning what constitutes a safe destination.
Some 130 people were killed in France's worst terror atrocities nearly two weeks ago.
Saayman's predicting a change in tourism patterns, with industry stakeholders changing the way they market themselves.
"I think that it's opening up the world and eyes of travellers in terms of what is safe and again if I can us the 9/11 attacks, we saw that in that time it impact that an attack there had on our travel to South Africa which increased dramatically.
"I'm convinced that we're going to see a bumper season, at least in a medium term.
