Transport Month to focus on three key areas
Updated | By Jarryd Subroyen
Transport Month starts today and provincial authorities say there are three focus areas.
The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Transport's Mluleki Mntungwa says they will look to reduce road deaths, as well as acts of violence and the sabotage of public transport.
Trains have not been running in the province over the past week after a train station in Umlazi, south of Durban was set alight, forcing rail authorities to suspend services.
Minister Blade Nzimande will officiallykick-off Transport Month at the Durban Harbour this afternoon.
He will do so by launching a new South African built vessel.
