Transport Minister says sector ‘will be revolutionised’ in next decade

Minister of Transport Barbara Creecy says the transport sector will be revolutionised in the next decade.

She says this will be through an acceleration of digital technology and new inventions powered by renewable energy.
Creecy was speaking during the Southern African Transport Conference in Pretoria.

She says New York has announced that sales of nearly all gas- and diesel-powered cars and trucks in the state will be banned by 2035
"Sale of new petrol and diesel cars will be banned by 2035 in Europe.
“The Department of Transport Green Transport Strategy can ensure that our development objectives are not at odds with our climate change mitigation laws."
