Mbalula says they will be strict on motorist during the holiday season, which normally is the time of the year where deadly accidents take place on the roads.
The minister was speaking outside the GauTrain station in Sandton were he kicked off the festive season safety campaign on Friday afternoon.
"We will not go easy on those who break the law. They will be arrested and dealt with", Mbalula said.
"Vehicles that are not roadworthy will be impounded just like we did in the Western cape and other parts. There will be traffic officers all over the place", he said.
