Trains in Durban and surrounds running again

Metrorail says most train services that were affected this morning in Durban and on the south coast are running again.

Commuters on the south coast, Bridge City in KwaMashu and the Merebank and Crossmore line were left stranded after trains were disrupted by what was thought to have been cable theft.
Regional Manager for Metrorail Dumisani Dube says they received reports early this morning that their traffic control centre was down.
Technical teams found that optic fibre cables had been cut, but none were stolen.
Dube says the damaged cables have been repaired.
He says the only repairs outstanding are at the Duffs Road station in KwaMashu.
"We're still investigating this incident in particular and we await the first preliminary report. They opted to cut the optic [fibre] cable and left all other cables which are more valuable. we suspect at this stage that it could have been sabotage,"he said.
