Tragedy at Umdloti beach as man drowns
Updated | By Shaun Ryan
An elderly man has drowned at Umdloti beach, north of
Durban. Emergency services say the man got into difficulty while
swimming in a tidal pool earlier today.

Netcare911's Chris Botha says it's still unclear what
happened at around 11am today, but the man may have suffered a heart attack while in the water at the popular beach.
Botha says paramedics tried to resuscitate the man for about 45-minutes.
"Tragically though he was declared dead at the scene," he said.
The man's name has not yet been released.
