Traffic nightmare as another truck blockade hits KZN
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
A truck blockade in Richards Bay on Thursday morning led to a traffic nightmare for motorists on the R34 John Ross Highway at Melomed.
The route heading into the north coast town is inaccessible.
Zinhle Mali, who's with the Road Traffic Management Corporation, says other roads are also blocked.
"You will remember that there was one at Van Reenen's and another one at Howick. I think it emanated from that complaint from truck drivers about foreign drivers."

She says the blockade will not be allowed to go on for long.
"As we speak, we are busy speaking with other stakeholders to try and tow away those trucks that are causing the blockade at all the roadways across the Empangeni region."
