Traffic authorities expect busy roads as Easter ends

The Road Traffic Management Corporation is expecting a very busy day on the country's roads, as holiday makers return home from their Easter weekend destinations.
The RTMC's Simon Zwane is urging motorists to exercise patience, and not to rush to be the first person to arrive home.
"We expect the traffic to peak at over 2500 vehicles on the N3 and the N1 coming from Gauteng," he said.
Meanwhile, the N3 Toll Concession says it expects traffic volumes to peak with 2500 vehicles per hour, heading through the Mooi River Toll Plaza towards Gauteng today.
Spokesperson, Con Roux says around 1500 vehicles were heading through the toll every hour yesterday. Roux says motorists can expect major delays, due to the traffic.
"There may well be delays along the way. A word of advice, please make sure that you do pack refreshments so that if you are caught up in delays, you do have refreshments in the car," he said.
