Traditional leaders want new Zulu King to accelerate rural development

The provincial house of traditional leaders has asked the new AmaZulu King Misuzulu kaZwelithini to fast track the development of rural areas.

It's hoping for stability when kaZwelithini ascends the throne.

Chairperson Inkosi Phathisizwe Chiliza has said in a statement that they believe the new king will follow in his late parents footsteps and protect Zulu customs, the culture and traditions. 


Chiliza has appealed to the monarch to help create work opportunities for the youth. 


The traditional leaders say they're looking forward to kaZwelithini's coronation.
