Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
The provincial house of traditional leaders is calling on men in Mthwalume to rise and help police deal with the senseless murders in the south coast area.
This is following the discovery of five bodies of murdered women in a sugarcane field there since the early days of the lockdown.
The recent discovery of two women this week has sparked fear in the community who suspect a serial killer is responsible.
Yesterday, police investigating the murder took in two people for questioning.
In a statement yesterday Chairman Phathisizwe Chiliza said what has taken place is shameful and beneath upstanding.
He says good locals coming forward with information will help bring the perpetrators to book.
Police Minister Bheki Cele, KZN Premier Sihle Zikalala, and Community Safety MEC Bheki Ntuli will visit the uMthwalume community today.
