Tourism KZN hosts webinar for COVID-19 hit businesses
Updated | By Newswatch
Tourism KwaZulu-Natal says it's taking several steps to keep small business enterprises afloat during the national lockdown.
The tourism and hospitality sector's been hard hit by the strict regulations under Levels 5, 4 and 3, which we're currently in – with most having no choice but to temporarily shut their doors.
The Tourism Department said recently that almost 600 000 jobs will be at risk - if the sector doesn't come into operation by September.
Now, Tourism KZN says it's offering support to small businesses – by assisting them with recovery strategies and measures to help them cope during the pandemic.

“To capacitate and equip small tourism enterprises with information, knowledge and the tools necessary to function in a COVID-19 environment, TKZN will host online workshops to share vital information to get small tourism business back on track," says acting CEO, Phindile Makwakwa.
These will be delivered online through workshops, with weekly topics being discussed.
The national department's already set aside R200 million to assist tourism businesses in distress.
If you want to participate in the online workshop head to TKZN's Facebook page for more details.
