Tour Durban route changes following M19 protest
Protest action on the M19 freeway near Reservoir Hills
earlier today has forced organisers of the aQuelle Tour Durban, presented by
the Bridge Fund Managers, to alter the route of the 100km race.
The longer event will now be raced over two laps of the Moses Mabhida Stadium to Umdloti bridge circuit. The race distance has been altered down to about 90km.
All three events will still be staged on Sunday, 28 April 2019 – but there have been changes to the starting times.
Organisers say the decision to remove the sections of the route through the areas affected by the protest was done to ensure the safety of all cyclists.

Organisers said during the week that they expect some R100-million to be injected into the local economy as a direct result of the event.
