Top ANC KZN officials accused of abuse in anonymous email
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
The African National Congress (ANC) in KwaZulu-Natal has established a task team to investigate allegations of abuse by three of its members.

The claims were brought to their attention in an anonymous email sent to KZN premier Sihle Zikalala and Legislature.
ANC's Provincial Secretary, Mdumiseni Ntuli says accusations were levelled against a MEC, a mayor and a provincial executive member.
"The purpose of an investigation is to ascertain the veracity and truthfulness or otherwise of the allegations that have implicated comrades Jomo Sibiya, Sipho Hlomuka and Ntuthuko Mahlaba.
"The second terms of references say a public invitation is now extended to the unknown author of an anonymous social media post to come forward and make a presentation to the provincial task team."

During a Provincial Executive Committee briefing yesterday, he quoted excerpts from the email.
"As the child of the ANC, I wish the ANC can have a safe place for us young women - where we can bring such grievances because we cannot trust the police.
"I, however, challenge my movement - the ANC - to open a platform and an inquiry on this matter. I probe that I will be the first to come forward if the ANC promises is to give us protection."
The group implicated in the email will be questioned by investigators.
