A Tongaat man is facing attempted murder charges after his elderly parents were attacked in an apparent hostage situation.
KZN police say a 69-year-old woman and a 79-year-old man were stabbed in their Buffelsdale home on Tuesday night.
”A hostage situation unfolded in a flat where a 34-year-old male had held up his 69-year-old mother and his 79-year-old father. The special task force was called out to the scene, gained forced entry to the home and apprehended the man.
The parents were stabbed multiple times and were treated by RUSA paramedics and then transported to a medical facility,” says Reaction Unit South Africa's Prem Balram.
