Tongaat farmer brings national honour to KZN

A Tongaat sugarcane farmer says he is honoured to be the one bringing a national agriculture award to KZN.
Anthony Goble has competed against nine hopefuls in a national farming contest hosted by Agri SA to earn the title of Young Farmer of The Year.
The 33-year-old was KZN's top candidate at KwaNalu's Annual Congress earlier this year and went on to compete on a national level.
Goble says the competition is a process where talent within the industry can be recognised.
"All the finalists were really good - I'm glad to be able to bring the award to the province for the first time. It's a great process of self-reflection - you are asked a lot of tough questions and you're made to think about why you do things.
"A lot of farmers are not confident enough in our operations - we tend to downplay them. We have some amazing farmers from KZN," he said.
