Toddler, teen survive near-drowning
Updated | By Anelisa Kubheka
A toddler and a teenager have had a lucky escape from drowning after being unresponsive for more than a minute in two separate incidents in the province.
Netcare 911's Chris Botha says a two-year-old boy was found floating in his family pool in the Queensburgh area this morning.
Paramedics found him completely unresponsive but after a minute's CPR his heart began beating again.
He was transported to hospital for further care.
Meanwhile, this afternoon, in uVongo beach a 16-year-old had an epileptic fit while in water.
"The Netcare911 paramedics and advanced life support was called to the scene to assist. We've loaded her into an ambulance and we're transporting her to a hospital in Margate where she's now in a stable condition," he said.
