Toddler killed in Ladysmith house fire

Local authorities are investigating the cause of a house
fire claimed the life of a baby in Ladysmith.
It's understood that the 1-year-old was sleeping in the Ezakheni home when the blaze ripped through the property. In the early hours of Sunday.
KZN police are investigating also to establish why the child had been left inside alone.
A spokesperson for IPSS Medical Rescue Samatha Merrick says their team responded to the scene. "

"On arrival, it was found that a single home had been engulfed by flames. eThekwini Fire Department along with Ladysmith Fire Department quickly extinguished the flames.
Sadly, a 16-month-old child was unable to escape the flames and was declared dead on the scene."
