Updated | By Nondumiso Dube
eThekwini Mayor Mxolisi Kaunda it'll take a couple of months to fix damaged water infrastructure in Tongaat.

"The timeframe has been short-circuited. The contract is expected to finish this job within four months so that we are able to start delivering water to the communities.
"We expect them not to do shoddy work because the timeframe has been short-circuited, but we want them to do quality work."
Kaunda says the work of rebuilding the water treatment plant has begun.
He's introduced the contractor to the community.
He explains why the project has delayed.
"We had to do through the SCM process after the SCM was concluded a contractor was appointed. There was an objection and that objection has been dealt with adequately and it was dismissed by the appeals committee."
