Three provinces account for half of new Covid-19 cases

Three of South Africa’s provinces continue to account for half of the new Covid-19 cases reported across the country.
These are KwaZulu-Natal (18%), Gauteng and the Western Cape at (17%) when combined, confirmed more than 50% of the new infections reported on Sunday.
Statistics released by the National Institute of Communicable Diseases (NICD) have shown that the country has recorded 648 new Covid-19 cases.
This represents a 2.9% positivity rate.
Thre was a sharp decrease in the number of new related death, with 25 fatalities reported, bringing the cumulative number of Covid-19 fatalities to 88 317.
