Three killed, several hurt in separate KZN crashes

Paramedics have been kept busy attending to a number of accidents on New Years day.

Down on the south coast, two people were killed and seven seriously injured in a horrific accident on the R603.
A delivery vehicle had lost control and overturned multiple times ejecting its passengers.
In Stanger, one person died and four others were injured, including two children, during a head on collision.
IPSS Medical Rescue's Samantha Meyrick says they responded to the scene on the R74.

"On arrival it was found that two vehicles had collided head on at high speed. Sadly the occupant of the of the vehicle succumbed to his injuries. A further two occupants, two young children, had sustained critical injuries and were placed under the care of IPSS."
In Pietermaritzburg, medics responded to a serious truck accident on the N3 near Cliffdale offramp.
On arrival they found a truck on fire.
The driver was found near the crash with serious injuries. He was stabilised on scene.
