Three killed in KZN thunderstorm

The severe storms across the province has claimed the lives of three people.

KZN disaster management say three family members died after a retaining wall fell onto their house in KwaMashu, North of Durban.
The circumstances surrounding the incident is being investigated.
Meanwhile, the KZN Department of Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs is urging communities to be cautions, as heavy rain and some hail continue in for parts of the province this weekend.

The SA Weather Service says strong winds in central and northern parts of KZN are also likely.
COGTA's Mswakhe Mayisela says disaster management teams have been dispatched to high risk areas.
"The districts that are likely to be affected are uMgungundlovu, eThekwini, Mzinyathi, Thukela and AmaJuba. We are therefore urging all our people to be cautious. We are not taking any chances, we'll pull all stops to ensure we respond whenever we are required to do so," he says.
