Acting National Police Commissioner Khomotso Phahlane says the men were nabbed in Mamelodi, north east of Pretoria.

Fifteen computers with information on the country's judges and judicial officers were stolen in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Phahlane says a vehicle that might have been used to flee the scene was also seized.

When asked whether police are probing a possible inside job - Phahlane says he is not in a position to disclose the suspects' personal information at this stage.

"We do not at this stage have information on whether it was an inside job or not because not one of the three arrested is a staff member. The three are just criminals. As to whether there was a inside job and or collusion, the investigation is still at a preliminary level," he said.

Answering questions posed by journalists during the briefing, Phahlane said the investigation team is unable to provide more details on the nature of information in the stolen computers.

CCTV footage from the day of the robbery is being looked into while due to there being a security breach at the Chief Justice offices - a security assessment of the premises will take place.

He says the three suspects are due to appear in court today.
